2003/2007 DODGE JAKE BRAKE PUMP $239.00.00 (DIAPHRAM KIT 99.00) OEM BRAND NEW FACTORY PUMPS NOT AFTERMARKET OR REMANUFACTUREDTHE 2003 THRU 2007 DODGE CUMMINS JAKE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP IS A BELT DRIVEN PUMP WITH A DRY SEALED BEARING BEHIND THE PULLEY AND 2 ROLLER BEARINGS INTERNAL IN THE REAR CAVITY SUPPLIED BY IT'S OWN SMALL PRE FILLED OIL RESERVOIR WITH AN INTERNAL SHAFT OIL SEAL.WHEN THE PUMP LIFE IS OVER IT USUALY BECOMES AUDIBLE AND THE OIL FROM INSIDE THE PUMP BEGINS TO APPEAR ON THE TOP OF THE PUMP,USUALY BLACK IN COLOR.THE SHAFT INSIDE THE PUMP HAS A SMALL CAM PRESSED ON TO IT THAT ACTIVATES THE DIAPHRAM PISTON .THIS IS BUILT INTO A ROLLER BEARING LUBRICATED BY THE OIL IN THE PUMP.THE NEW PUMPS ARE AVAILABLE AND COME WITH THE ORIGINAL DESIGN STEEL PULLEY THAT TURNS AT A SLIGHTLY SLOWER RPM RANGE HAVING NO AFFECT ON THE JAKE BRAKE OPERATION AND EXTENDING THE LIFE OF THE PUMP. .THIS PUMP IS READY TO BOLT ON AND GO WITH YOUR EXISTING BELT. FOR INFORMATION ONLY FOR THOSE INTRESTED IN TAKING THEIR EXISTING PUMP APART TO REPLACE THE FRONT BEARING.. IF YOU REMOVE YOUR PULLEY THE PULLEY IS NOT TO BE PRESSED BACK ON IN A PRESS,SEE PICTURE BELOW OF PROPER PULLEY INSTALLATION.PRESSING WILL DAMAGE THE INTERNAL COMPONENTS.INSTALLATION TOOLS SHOWN BELOW COME WITH NEW PUMPS.AUTOZONE AND ADVANCE AND OTHER AUTO PARTS STORES HAVE LOANER TOOL S LIKE THE SIMPLE PULLER USED TO REMOVE THE PULLEY AT NO CHARGE.USE CAUTION NOT TO DAMAGE THE BACK OF THE PULLEY WITH THE PULLER ARMS.!!! THE PULLEY SHAFT IS THREADED INTERNALY AS YOU SEE AND THE PULLEY IS DRIVEN BACK ON TO THE SHAFT BY SCREWING THE CORRECT SIZE BOLT INTO THE HOLE AND WITH A SPACER JUST WIDER THEN THE SHAFT SIZE ON THE BOLT THE BOLT IS TIGHTENED PUSHING THE PULLEY ON TO THE SHAFT.WHEN THE PULLEY IS COMPLETELY ON THE SHAFT I HAVE MEASURED APPROX 18.MM OF THE SHAFT EXPOSED FROM THE END OF THE PULLEY.THE PUMP ON TOP IS ATTACHED WITH FOUR SMALL SCREWS AND EASILY REMOVED FACING UP TO PREVENT OIL LOSS.THERE IS A SMALL NITRILE ORING ON THE PUMP THAT GETS REPLACED,MAKE SURE YOU DON'T LEAVE THE OLD ONE IN THE PUMP BODY.THE OIL RESERVOIR APPEARS TO BE PRE FILLED TO 3/4 CAPACITY.PICTURES BELOW SHOW THE PUMP BODY WITH THE VACUUM PUMP SEPARATED LOOKING AT THE CAM AND OIL RESERVOIR.THE INLET BRACKET GOES BETWEEN THE BODY AND PUMP FLAT SIDE FACING THE PUMP NOT THE BODY AND THE INLET TUBE ON THE PUMP FACING THE BACK OF THE PUMP.JUST SOME INTRESTING INFORMATION I CARED TO PASS ALONG,HOPE IT WAS OF USE.8286441900

TO INSTALL THE PULLEY PUT A 3/8 X16 NUT ON A 3" 3/8 X 16 CARRIGE BOLT,NEXT A 3/8 FENDER WASHER THEN A 3/4" SPACER.PUT THE PULLEY SQUARE ON THE SHAFT AND SCREW THE BOLT ALL THE WAY INTO THE SHAFT .HOLD THE PULLEY STRAIGHT AND TURN THE NUT IN WITH A WRENCH.THIS WILL DRIVE THE PULLEY ON TO THE SHAFT AND IT WILL STOP WHEN ALL THE WAY ON.THE REMAINDER OF THE EXPOSED SHAFT COMMING THRU THE PULLEY WILL BE RITE AROUND 18MM YOU WILL SEE AFTER REMOVING THE BOLT AND SPACER.
