Vacuum pump repair kit available !

If you prefer doing the job yourself try the vacuum pump repair kit.The kit has a 50 minute DVD of the pump on the bench being re-sealed and shows the process in detail for easy installation of the new seals and orings in the kit.The kit also has plastic tools included for removal and installation of the seal and orings and the large gasket required to put the pump back on the motor specialy designed by Gould Gear in aluminum completely coated in nitrile,not just a 16th inch oring like the factory gasket.An extra seal and set of orings is also included in the kit so if an oring or seal is damaged doing the repair the spare parts are there to finish the repair.




MOST COMMON FAILURE IS THE NO BRAKES NO STEERING SYMPTOMS.THIS IS CAUSED BY THE DRIVE TANGS SHOWN ON THE END OF THE POWERSTEERING PUMP OR VACUUM PUMP SHEERING OFF.THESE TANGS ARE PART OF WHAT I CALL THE COUPLER GEAR .ONCE THE TANGS SHEAR OFF THE POWER STEERING PUMP NO LONGER ROTATES SO POWER STEERING BECOMES DISABLED.ALSO THE HYDROBOOST UNIT LOSES ITS SOURCE OF HYDRAULICS ALSO PROVIDED FROM THE POWERSTEERING PUMP THAT IS NO LONGER ROTATING CAUSING POWER ASSIST BRAKE FAILURE.THE 4X4 AND TRUCK WITH SNOW PLOW ATTACHED HAS THE FAILURE MORE OFTEN THEN 2 WHEEL DRIVE DUE TO THE ADDED STRESS ON THE PART CAUSED BY BIGGER TIRES,OFF ROAD USE LIKE JAMMING A TIRE AGAINST LARGE ROCKS OR HOLES AND TURNING THE STEERING FORCING THE WHEEL TO TURN.THE ADDED WEIGHT OF 2 TONS OF SNOW AND A PLOW BLADE PUSHING DOWN ON THE FRONT END ALSO CREATES A STRESS ON THE DRIVE TANGS THAT THOSE LITTLE THINGS JUST CAN'T HANDLE.LOOKING AT THE PICTURES IN THE WEBSITE PERHAPS YOU CAN BETTER UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM.THESE
